STEM for the Year
@ Jersey ROE
This hands-on workshop will provide STEM ideas for use throughout the year.  Participants will engage in activities that center around both well-known and obscure national days of the year....think National Roller Coaster Day or National Safety Pin Day or the ever popular National Potato Chip Day!  Rest assured the many activities you will leave with will align with the NGSS and can be used in your 4th-8th grade classroom right away.

Google Level 1 Certification - Bootcamp
@ Carlinville ROE
This Level 1 Certification workshop will prepare participants to take the Google Educator Level 1 certification exam. Level 1 certification indicates a fundamental understanding of using Google Tools in the classroom and confirms standard technology implementation skills. This workshop is designed for teachers that have a solid base of implementing the Google tools in their classroom and is not designed as an introduction to the Google tools.

Educators who pass the certification test will be able to advertise their status with a personalized certificate and badge. Certification lasts 36 months.  Instructor: Joe Cipfl LTC

Cliff Notes for New Teachers...How to Create a Successful Classroom. Everything They Didn't Teach You in College, the Short Version
@ Jersey ROE
Participants will be immersed in the knowledge gained from 34 years of successes and failures in the classroom in this high-energy workshop.  All the little secrets about creating that magical classroom climate, having wonderful parent, student, peer, and administrator relationships, creative classroom management, and even time-saving tips will be covered in the morning.  In the afternoon, participants will learn positive strategies for a successful parent-teacher conference.  Everyone will leave with activities that can be utilized in the classroom from the next day of school.

AA #1451: Teacher Evaluator Competency Skill Building for Teacher Evaluators
@ Jersey ROE
Administrators who evaluate teachers must demonstrate a high rate of inter-rater reliability, and communicate evaluation outcomes in constructive and supportive ways. Administrators who evaluate teachers must also recognize and control for bias when conducting an evaluation and determining results. School districts in Illinois must provide professional development to administrators to strengthen these skills on a sustained basis. This course focuses on Domains 1 and 4, and is intended to move administrators who have passed the ISBE evaluator training, and who are very familiar with Charlotte Danielson's 2011/2013 Framework for Teaching, from compliance to competency. This course requires participants to pre-conference, record data according to the Professional Practice rubric, and participate in mock pre/post conferences as evaluator, teacher, or observer. Participants will also be expected to have a high degree of inter-rater reliability when they determine a final rating based on the evidence gathered for Domains 1 and 4.
